Great America with Amruth and Robin family
Food is something you have to have. Even when you are going to an amusement park with roller coasters and water splashes.
So, I had the tag for the food in my wrist band. You are entitled to an entree and a side every ninety minutes. So the first combo was a burger and mac-n-cheese, the second combo was a pizza slice and two bread sticks, third combo was orange chicken and chowmein, forth combo was breaded fish and waffle fries, fifth combo was fried chicken and french fries. That is quite a lot of food for thirty dollars. You also notice how all of these have a same old stuff vibe to it. Sometimes, America feels too standardized. Thirty dollars is cheap for all that food combined. But to take that advantage, you have to spend on the entry ticket, and on the parking ticket! You can't beat America on money games.
I have gone to so many water theme parks. But I still did not build the sense muscle to go prepared with a swim suite so you can enjoy the water which would feel awesome in the summer. So, I did the next best thing which was to sit in a yellow chair in front of the tide pool with a cap on my face to save it from the sun. And then something even better happened. I lied down on the blue stretch chair, again with the cap on my face to beat the sun. Those were some good moments.
Had let Amruth know that I am here as he was the only other one in the group without swim wear. Meanwhile saw Anjana and the group, and called them over. Now, we had a couple of blue cots to rest/keep our bags on.
Kids had plenty of fun. That was the whole point of the trip. Amruth, me and Robin had some time catching up. Amruth described how he enjoyed the Italy trip and how easy it was for him to do the travel, now that he is a US citizen. Felt some motivation take root both for Italy travel, and for US citizenship.
I did get into the Mouse roller coaster. Niya and her friend Alphonza were sitting in front leading the car while Amruth and myself sat scared in the back seat. Niya had the typical bored expression she carries for the exciting rides. I did enjoy the falls and the turns and also appreciated the sturdiness of the system as I was tossing and turning.
Sea gulls gave us company at the final food spot. Again, even this is standardized. You get the shameless sea gulls everywhere, vying for your hard earned nuggets.
The park had excellent garden I felt. Everything was green and flowering. I am looking for garden ideas for the backyard. One of the things on my mind currently is to have a green enclosure within which one can take respite from the heat. Found a structure like that near the sea gulls. Robin discussed with me on the potential to make something like that a reality in my backyard.
Rope way was fun. Amruth and Anjana rode along with Divya and me. Slow easy ride. Divya was trying to find rides we had not yet gone to by using the aeriel view. It was a great day for the kids. Great company and lots of exciting fun rides. It was great catching up with Amruth and Robin families. Only days well spent get into blogs.
