Curry love

Curries just have a way to find us.

First, it was Shannu's chana dal and jeera rice. Healthy tasty homely food.

Just as the fridge started to look empty, Manu rings the bell bringing in Anjali's super healthy jeera rice and beans curry.  Healthy controlled food that one would get in a high end hospital. Ok - how about healthy food that a diet strict movie star would get.

Then it was Ramshi's idiyappam and egg curry. One way ticket to Kerala. The beef biriyani was there too but it is the idiyappam and egg curry that took me home. Relatively new to US, I had felt the same nostalgia effect with Ramshi's egg puffs at a community get-together earlier.

Following week, we had Nithya's kappa meen curry, and chicken varutharachathe. When Vijesh brought it in, I thought the curries were already made. But when I ate it the next day, they just came back alive. It was a quiet day - time for lunch.  The fish curry just woke me right up. The feat was repeated next day with Nithya's chicken varutharachcha curry. I really did not expect the chicken curry to feel that lively. Just amazing.

Murali brought in a big tray of Shannu's pulao, chicken curry and chana dal the week after. Time for healthy vegetarian food.  Anjali followed suite the next week with another round of jeera rice, chapathi and chana/dal curry. On the same day, Ramshi sent in puttu and beef curry and Gafoor's favorite manja curry. Curry never stops you see.  That week, every day I would have putt for breakfast.

On the coming weekend,  Rameez did early morning meat shopping, Sayara prepared ghee rice and mutton curry , dal, chicken fry, and an entire tray of chicken curry and drove all the way from Fremont to Tracy.  We sat together and had a very tasty lunch. It is only after they left that I realized how much food there is here. The ghee rice and chicken curry ran that week.

This weekend, Amruth and Anjana came over from Fremont to Tracy in the evening.  I had prepared  red parboiled rice and had it wih Anjana's red salmon curry. And I messaged Amruth that it was awesome. He asked what about the chicken curry. There is a reason he asked that question.  Very tasty curry  - slighly sweet as well. The kids have taken a special interest in his curry, and have started telling yes to the question - Do you want more?
