Musical night - Job Kurian, Sitara Krishnakumar, Harish Sivaramakrishnan
Job Kurian's grandmother had passed away 2-3 days back. He shared that with his audience naturally. He is sad, his heart is there. However, he gave himself fully to his high energy performances. The connect between the audience and the performers was amazing. Harish Sivaramakrishnan when introducing a song had said that this is a song I usually sing for my friends, and you guys are like my friends. Cheesy as that may sound, the connect was real with every performer.
Sitara came in with a song directly and then continued the conversation. Audience shouted out requests and she sang them out. Very talented. Sitara engaged the audience very well.
Harish Sivaramakrishnan shone with his characteristic top-of-the-voice improvisations to yesteryear musical masterpieces. He connected very well with his audience as well.
The consistency in performance was impressive. Every song from every performer came out great. Hardly any fluff. No long-draws sponsor messages, no dragging conversations from the artists.
Audience was amazing. Everyone had a penchant for singing. Whenever the singers gave the audience a chance to participate, they just knocked the ball straight out the park. Easy.
The program unwound very organically. The songs that the artists had planned were the very same songs that the knowing audience requested. Talent met interest head-on.
High energy high talent night, a better sound system would have helped though. We had gone there with many of our family friends - Gafoor-Ramsheena, Sheeja-Cyril, Sajna, and Gafoor in turn had around eight or so of his friends, Sajna had four friends of her own, Cyril was running into many known faces in the audience, we had run into "Vallaatha pahayan" fame Vinod before the program started. Biriyani, pazham pori, chaaya etc were being served from the lobby area as well. We spent some time on chatter, bought a couple of biriyanis and drove home re-listening and singing to the recorded videos. Talent emanating from three people was what made for a memorable evening to the hundreds of families out there. Talent is good.
Nice. Good to see everyone enjoyed the show
