Bhavans zoom

Corona time. Weekends are about zoom meetings to catch up with old timers.

Just finished one with my school buddies
- Richu,Pravin,Paul,Rohit,Gopal,Joby,Praveen George,Vinod. Two back to back forty minute zoom sessions. Laughed so much through the meetings that you start feeling guilty.

With a slightly aching neck, had chosen to take the call from the bedroom with the wall as the back rest. But the table lamp was not exactly providing the right lighting - all shadow, too much halo. As others were poking fun at me, I started getting a sinking feeling. I could get shredded to bits here. Location change.

Sat next to the wifi next. Lights good. But now, the laptop microphone was not working. So had to login on phone as well. Now there were echo issues. "Naalathe kerala..naalathe kerala.." style.  Resolution was to bring the laptop volume to zero, and to keep your hands to yourself when the A/V is good.

Rohit had found himself a new sound. Probably listening to him after twenty four years -may be?  Felt like one actor's voice had been dubbed by another one. In time, the sound and the visuals of Rohit overlay perfectly.

Joby carries the same mirth he used to carry when he carried the navy blue strips on his school uniform collar.  Vinod V was his target to poke fun at and comes up with humorous comments and sends the chat screen to splits.

Richu played the nice even keel host. Special thanks for letting me in over and over into the meeting through phone and laptop through all the attempts at getting a simple zoom call to work.

Gopal was initially busy having his biscuits on the screen, but soon started participating in the conversations.

As we were looking at the receding hair lines around, Pravin stood out in sharp contrast with his rock star hair.

Paul came in with the screen name as "Vakkanal 2". He was the brunt of our jokes before he even got into the meeting. The atmosphere was so charged up that just having a 2 at the end of his screen name evoked so much fun and laughter. Came in his white t-shirt, has a lot of work on his mind.

By the time, Praveen George came in, my phone had got switched off, which meant I could not talk any more. I could talk but no one could hear me. So I responded to his questions through chat.

Great to catch up with old timers.
