Kumbalangi nights week
This week is about watching "Kumbalangi nights" over and over.
Uyiril thodum thalir
Bobby and Baby falling in love again picturized beautifully. Bobby and Baby are presented as innocent nice endearing people. You find yourself liking each of them very much, and then you are happy to see them fall in love with each other. And then the song "Uyiril thodum thalir" comes along taking you further into the mood..
OoLaye premicha penkutti
Bobby and Baby have a fight and get over it, and it is endearing to watch them navigate through to success..
Yeshu namukkariyatha aalonnumallallo..
This scene establishes the closeness of the sisters. You see them as a unit now.
Chettannu viliche..
This is a super hilarious scene. Saji has never been called "Chetta", and request to be called "Chetta" in the wake of being asked to talk about Bobby's marriage proposal,
Saji beaten with pankayam..
Saji's sincere love for his brothers comes out in this scene. However, Saji's lack of emotional maturity puts him into a situation where he is beaten by his brother. It is painful to watch as you know Saji did not mean to slap Frankie, but Saji could not take the grounding comments from Frankie as Saji was dreaming against the tide of reality ,and everything just shattered for him.
Palathanthakku pirannatha..
Saji speaks to the psychiatrist about how it is painful when people refer to them as having multiple fathers. You can feel how deeply hurt they have been, and how they might have had to face that pretty much all through their lives.
Oh Silent Cat
Song comes in as a pain balm for the misery we just shared with the brothers.
Beautiful song. Beautifully sung.
Frankie blushing when the african american girl comes to their home
This was a hilarious sequence as well. Frankie blushing as Bobby's girlfriend is about to move in.
Mesmerizing acting from every single actor in the movie - the brothers, sisters, mother, tourist, other character actors, every single one of them. Amazing camerawork. Amazing background score. Very nicely subtle in some scenes....
